Highly Effective Pt-Co/ZSM-5 Catalysts with Low Pt Loading for Preferential CO Oxidation in H2-Rich Mixture

New Pt-Co catalysts of hydrogen purification from CO impurities for fuel cells were fabricated via the deposition monodispersed 1.7 nm Pt nanoparticles using laser electrodispersion on Co-modified ZSM-5 prepared by Co(CH3COO)2 impregnation. The structure zeolites was studied low-temperature N2 sorption, TEM, EDX, and XPS methods. comparative analysis samples with different (0.01–0.05 wt.%) Co (2.5–4.5 contents ratio Si/Al = 15, 28, 40 performed in CO-PROX reaction H2-rich mixture (1%CO + 1%O2 49%H2 49%He). synergistic catalytic action zeolite surface makes it possible to completely remove a wide temperature range 50 150 °C; high efficiency designed composites low loading is maintained long time. enhancement PROX performance originates formation new active sites oxidation at interfaces within channels surface. In terms their activity, stability, selectivity, such are significantly superior known supported catalysts.

Highly reduced graphene oxide supported Pt nanocomposites as highly efficient catalysts for methanol oxidation.

The highly reduced graphene oxide using solvated electrons as reductive agents shows low defects and well dispersion that are vital as the support of Pt nanoparticles in direct methanol electro-oxidation. The electrochemical experiments demonstrate that the Pt/RGO composites not only greatly enhance the catalytic activity but also dramatically improve the durability of the catalyst.
